Our Story

Adrien and Andy met at Indiana University where they were teammates on the varsity track & field and cross country teams. After graduating from Cornell, Adrien joined the IU team for his red-shirt senior where he and Andy were both ranked in the top-5 nationally for the 3,000M Steeplechase.  After collecting multiple All-American, Big Ten, and Academic All-American certificates, our founders went their separate ways after graduation before joining up again 3 years later to work for a real estate development company in Southern Indiana.

Working together during their early careers, Adrien and Andy, focused primarily on developing, constructing, and triple-net leasing senior housing projects across the country, with projects in markets from Las Vegas, NV to Port Royal, SC.  After collecting the knowledge and skills to manage the various aspects of development and construction, they decided to head out on their own to establish Millstone. They sold their homes, moved to Indianapolis, and in January 2017, founded Millstone while working from coffee shops and couch surfing with friends and family.

Since then, Millstone has constructed over $30 Million in commercial construction projects and, after opening the development arm of their company in 2020, Millstone has pipe-lined over $100 Million in multi-family and self storage development projects.

A Millstone is one of a pair of stones that grind together to turn raw grains into products that support and sustain a community, and that is the goal and the character of this company: Working together, Millstone turns parcels of raw ground into places that support, enhance, and establish communities.  Grinding together Adrien and Andy have built up Millstone from a kitchen table business plan to a vertically integrated and professional development shop.  These two know hard work and value the entrepreneurial and results-oriented culture that they have created as they have built this company from the ground up.

  • ADRIEN DANNEMILLER

    Owner

    A Cornell University Graduate and All-American track athlete, Adrien has a unique blend of both construction management and entrepreneurial experience. Adrien has managed over $100 Million in construction and has pipelined over $100 Million in development projects over his decade long career in Construction and Real Estate Development. Adrien has construction management experience in several markets across the U.S. including: Indiana, Ohio, Michigan, Kentucky, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Las Vegas, Nevada.

  • ANDY WEATHERFORD

    Owner

    A graduate of Indiana University (BA) and Washington University in St. Louis (MA) and an All-American Track athlete, Andy has experience in marketing, client relations, communications, and construction management. Andy has managed over $65 Million in construction projects and has pipelined over $100 Million in development projects over the last 8 years. Andy has managed construction projects in Indiana, Ohio, Michigan, Kentucky, and North Carolina. He has experience in construction management for several commercial real estate product types including senior living, multi-family, self-storage, office, retail, and dental offices.

  • TAD BRANAMAN

    Superintendent

    A lifelong tradesman and small business owner before becoming Millstone's first Superintendent, Tad's expert knowledge of the construction trades stems from his breadth of experience working in various sectors of the construction industry including concrete, electrical, flooring, and carpentry. With over 20 years of experience in the construction industry, Tad brings expert trade knowledge to the projects he oversees and specializes in the construction of ground up senior housing, self-storage, and multi-family projects.

  • Richard Claussen

    Superintendent

    With a career spanning over 15 years in commercial construction, Richard brings a wealth of experience and leadership to his role as Superintendent. Starting out as a framer, he quickly advanced to managing complex projects, where his skill and dedication shine. His project portfolio includes tenant build-outs, healthcare facilities, big box retail, and multifamily developments.

  • Joel Eckman

    Assistant Superintendent

    Joel has worked for 13 years in the construction trade industry in the commercial construction sector. For the last 6 years he has worked as a jobsite foreman for carpentry crews on projects ranging from new schools to multifamily projects. Joel is an Assistant Superintendent at Millstone providing on site management for our multi-family construction projects.

  • OWEN HARTMAN

    Development Manager

    A graduate of Depauw University, Owen has extensive experience in the acquisition, development and management of ground-up multifamily projects across the country. Previously employed at S.C. Bodner Company, Owen sourced and oversaw the development of 1,564 Class-A multifamily units totaling $262M of construction across the U.S. in various markets including: College Station, TX, San Antonio, TX, Bluffton, SC, Rogers, AR, Port St. Lucie, FL, and Port Charlotte, FL.

  • Travis Iker

    Superintendent

    Prior to transitioning to a career as a superintendent, for nearly a decade Travis owned and operated Iker Construction, a successful concrete construction company. With over 20 years of experience in the construction industry in under his belt, Travis brings deep trade knowledge to the projects he oversees and specializes in the construction of ground up multi-family, senior housing, office, and industrial projects.

  • Patrick Land

    Project Manager

    With a Construction Management degree and a VDC/BIM focus from Purdue University, Pat brings a strong technical background and hands-on expertise to his role as Project Manager. He has led diverse commercial projects, from data centers and tenant improvements to major aviation developments at the Denver Airport. Coming from a legacy of builders, Pat combines industry heritage with a commitment to quality and innovation on every project.

  • ZACH MAYHEW

    Controller / Director of Finance

    A graduate of Indiana University (BA) with a degree in finance and an All-American track athlete, Zach worked in public accounting and operated his own accounting firm before becoming Millstone Management’s first hire. Zach manages Millstone’s accounting department and plays a key role in formulating and implementing the company’s financial strategy.

  • David McCubbin

    Superintendent

    David has spent most of his life in construction performing both plumbing and carpentry trades. For the last 10 years he has worked his way up from commercial tenant build-outs to ground up multi-family buildouts. After completing construction of a multi-family development at the Central State Hospital site in Indianapolis, David has joined Millstone’s team running senior housing projects on the general contracting side of the company.

  • Jake McKanna

    Project Executive

    A veteran of the United States Navy, Jake has over a decade of experience in commercial construction. Jake has experience working as a project manager and as project executive, managing teams of project managers, for both third-party general contracting work and in-house development projects. Over the past 10 years Jake has managed over $115 Million in construction and has overseen the construction of nearly 1500 multifamily units. Jake has managed construction projects in Indiana, Ohio, and Florida.

  • Kelli Parham

    Project Accountant

    Kelly has more than 30 years of experience in the construction industry, working both as a Construction Administrator and a Project Accountant on projects from Telecomunications towers, to senior housing, to multi-family developments. Previously, she worked for one of Indianapolis’ largest multi-family development companies and now works for Millstone as project accountant for the general contracting side of our business.

  • Justin Sanford

    Assistant Project Manager

    Justin has a background in both commercial construction and entrepreneurship. Part owner of a digital marketing company and product manufacturing company, he also has extensive experience in mechanical construction. Before joining the Millstone team, Justin worked for 5 years with a mechanical contracting company, was a part of the Mechanical Contractors Association of Indiana, and is a certified MCAA Institute Project Manager.

  • Mirza Somun

    Development Associate

    Mirza brings a diverse professional background to Millstone with his experience in the financial services and financing industries. Previously employed at Valeo Financial Advisors, he has experience with equity raises and investments. More recently, he worked at Baker Hill as an RVP Sales Associate, where he provided enterprise software to banking institutes to help them streamline commercial loan underwriting analysis. Mirza has joined Millstone as a Development Associate specializing in the analysis, underwriting, and entitlement processes for our in-house development projects.

  • Kevin Tennill

    Superintendent

    Kevin brings over 15 years of experience in the construction industry, having worked his way up from his family’s General Contracting and Millwork businesses to a superintendent role at a large commercial GC. Since 2008, he has worked across industrial, institutional, commercial, and senior living sectors, with recent expertise in managing multifamily and student housing projects. His diverse background and commitment to excellence ensure projects are delivered with the highest quality and efficiency.

  • Nate Young

    Senior Project Manager

    Nate is a construction professional with 25 years of experience. He started framing houses during college summers and advanced to Project Manager in Colorado, where he spent 17 years building multi-million dollar homes, property developments, and commercial projects in the Aspen area. After returning to Indianapolis, Nate designed and built custom homes in Hancock County before joining Edward Rose, where he closed out over 500 units in four years. Most recently at Millstone Nate successfully bid out a $40 million project and completed a 22-unit duplex development for Trilogy Healthcare.
